Title: Medical Device Safety and Recalls: Updated Information on Interference between CT and Electronic Medical Devices

In 2008, the FDA published a preliminary public health notification about the possibility that x-rays from Computed Tomography (CT) examinations could cause some implanted and externally worn electronic medical devices to malfunction, and we provided recommendations to reduce the potential risk. A new web page was developed to update this notification, with this web page we intend to mitigate potential adverse events by sharing with patients and the healthcare community our current understanding of this issue and updating our recommendations, based on the latest evidence.

This new web page can be found at  http://www.fda.gov/Radiation-EmittingProducts/RadiationSafety/ElectromagneticCompatibilityEMC/ucm489704.htm
