Summerdale Peanut Co., LLC Recalls 10 Oz Bags of Baldwin County Fried Peanuts Because Of Possible Health Risk (February 4)

Summerdale Peanut Co., LLC is recalling approximately 150 bags of Baldwin County Fried Peanuts packaged in 10 oz cellophane bags. These peanuts, distributed to retail establishments in Southern Alabama between June 30 and December 22, 2008, were supplied by the Peanut Corporation of America in Blakely, Georgia and have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.
