The product contains peanut butter supplied by Peanut Corporation of America, which is the subject of an FDA investigation concerning recent Salmonella outbreaks. Peanut Corporation of America (PCA) has initiated a voluntary recall of certain peanut butter and peanut paste made at its Blakely, Georgia facility, "because the products have the potential to be contaminated with salmonella." Salmonella is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.
