Insect
Infestation Prompts Seizure of Dried Food Products in
Ohio
U.S. marshals have
seized about $750,000 worth of dried food products from Ohio-based Purity Foods
Inc. after an FDA inspection showed insect infestation in warehouse areas where
the foods were stored or manufactured. The seized products included cereals,
cake mixes, bread crumbs, and dehydrated potatoes. The company sells products
under the Purity label land various store brands.
