Among the proposals are requirements for design of physical plants, quality control procedures, product testing, maintaining records, and handling consumer complaints. Among the materials are two fact sheets explaining FDA's role in safeguarding animal health to protect consumers and keeping the United States free of bovine spongiform encephalopathy ("mad cow disease").
