FDA Initiative Aims at Enhancing Drug Manufacturing Practices

FDA is taking steps to enhance its regulation of pharmaceutical
manufacturing and product quality. The goals of the new agency initiative
include focusing resources on manufacturing aspects that pose the greatest
health risks; ensuring that enforcement of quality standards doesn't impede
innovation; and achieving a consistent approach to regulating product
quality.

Special FDA Page Explains Whole-Body CT Scans

You've probably seen or heard ads for whole-body CT (computed tomography)
scans that tout the procedure as a screen for disease in healthy individuals
who have no symptoms or suspicion of disease. However, FDA knows of no
scientific data showing that any benefits the procedure may have as a
screening device for healthy people outweigh its potential risks (which
include radiation dose). Read more about whole-body CT scans on this site
created by the FDA Center for Devices and Radiological Health.
