I recall once the screen hanged compelling me to press a hard-reboot. 
Later I found out the cause was due to the bad contact of the power
cable of HD.


I got the problem fix after running;

# fcsk.ext3 -b 32768   /dev/hda8
and answering several questions.

Now partition /dev/hda8 is now working.
