Problem with more than 1T B

Hello,
 
I'm using linux kernel 2.6.8-24.
I configured it with "CONFIGURE_EXT3_FS=y"
and installed "e2fsprogs".
 
Now I try formatting my 2,5 TB HDD (Raid5 12x250GB)
how can I do this? the system internal tool does only format 1TB.
