"-u" is already enabled by default by the kernel on most common
hardware.  It's only disabled if the kernel doesn't know how to enable
it safely.  Forcing it on in that case can easily cause silent data
corruption, so only use it if you're willing to qualify that
configuration yourself through extensive testing.
