Nik,

Thanks for your suggestion. I wish it was just a simple jumper
mis-configuration. The new drive is on a separate IDE controller, all by
itself, so there's no problem with the jumper settings. Everything works as
expected when I boot using Windows.

Any other ideas?

May I suggest that the new drive is incorrectly set as "Master" on the ide
connector?
The original drive should have the jumpers set to "Master", the RH7.2 one on
"slave".
