You want resize2fs, which is included in e2fsprogs.  I've used it a
number of times, with excellent results.  Note that while you must run
xfs_growfs with the volume mounted, resize2fs must be run on an
unmounted volume.  resize2fs will also insist that you run fsck -f on
the volume before resizing, as a safety measure.
