You can't be looking very hard. :-)  This was fixed in an errata over
6 months ago:

	http://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHBA-2002-085.html

and has come up on this list frequently since then.

Yes.  (You'll need to rebuild your initrd too if you want it to have
effect on your root filesytem.)
