Hello,

At the prompt, type in your root password. You will be dropped to a
shell. Type in 'cat /etc/mtab' and look for the line which contains
'/home'. This lets you know what device /home is mounted on. It will
probably be something like /dev/hda2. Once you ascertain which device
/home is mounted on, run 'e2fsck -y /dev/foo' where foo is the device.
Once fsck stops running, type reboot and the system will power cycle
cleanly.
