I was running a 2.4.18-10 kernel, and whatever version
of Ext-3 comes with that.

I'll try applying ext3-2.4-0.9.17-2418p3 against that
and see what happens.

This patch was designed for 2.4.18-pre. I hope there's
no problems in applying it to 2.4.18-10.

I'll also install the latest e2fsprogs.

I'll let you know how it goes.
