Well, turns out that I may have said that too soon. ;) Gnome does not work
anymore (gnome-session quits right after login), that may be an issue with
gnome 3.14 and catalyst, not 100% sure. For some people it's working, for some
it isn't. Now I'm using  KDE, which kinda  works, but I don't like it. It's
ugly, it's different, and none of my typical workflows do what they did any
more. But that's just ranting since I'm pissed at all those small issues with
KDE. And at the 3 hours I thought my catalyst installation was broken when it
was actually gnome which did not start. ;)

Right now I use 3.16, the tests I did with the radeon driver which led me here
were with 3.16. I could test 3.14 (arch's lts kernel) with relative ease. If I
get some pointers what info to provide, or what to try, I can do that. Right
now, I am clueless in how to debug further, where relevant info is written to
and so on.
