Well, yes, mine looks quite fancy, with 3 fans and stuff. I bought it for the
better cooling solution (no idea why the reference design must be loud and not
very efficient).
Thing is, it also has a different BIOS, because it doesn't have "Uber"-Mode, as
that mode should be default on my card. AFAIK "Uber"-Mode on reference designs
squeezes out more performance but is way louder. It should be activatable by a
small switch on the card.
In contrast my "Sapphire Radeon R9 290X Tri-X OC" switches beteen normal BIOS
and UEFI mode with that switch (I'm using the normal one as my rig is from the
ancient times before UEFI).

Maybe it'd be interesting if you tried to switch to "Uber"-Mode and see if
anything chages (does dpm still work or does the "Uber"-Mode BIOS also use a
ASIC_ProfilingInfo v3.1 table ?).
