Alex, thanks so much for fixing this, and to everyone who helped. I don't have the hardware to confirm this anymore, but d4ddio has the same system that I had when I opened the bug, and confirms that the bug is fixed. Quite a few folk who couldn't use Linux with a gui now can again.
