Sorry for the delay.
I had some extra time right after I got the first patch, and tried several
things, but then got very busy and I have not applied the new patch. It
looks fine to me but I haven't actually compiled it in.
I'll post something as soon as I have the chance.


Here is what I have found so far.

There is an 80x25 grid of colorful random characters in the text terminal
just after the mode switch, but it is otherwise perfect as far as I could
tell.

I also tried 64 MiB offset instead of 128, which also worked.

I also tried (with the 128 MiB offest) setting
rdev->mc.igp_sideport_enabled to false, and booting with radeon.fastfb=1,
which also worked for me.
