it seems like you have 2 patches here, one which renames check_timing
to check_mode, and another which removes the fb_videomode usage. I
think it should probably be split.

If you don't split it, I think you could simplify the commit message to:

This patch renames check_timing to check_mode and removes the
unnecessary conversion of drm_display_mode to/from fb_videomode in the
hdmi driver.

Why print a bool here? If you're interpreting the value, you might as
well use a string. Alternatively, just print flags directly.
