The classic driver has been deprecated for a while now, since r600g has more features and performance. I can play nexuiz on my HD6850 with r600g of mesa 9.0 and 9.1-dev just fine. BTW HD6850 is not Juniper, but Barts Pro. I found that setting all CPU cores to performance while gaming gets rid of the lag spikes. I use a startup script for all games that sets perfromance; runs game; sets ondemand. I think this one is safe to close.
