It seems that since kernel 5.6 (or at least Debian's version thereof), I no
longer need to fiddle with
/sys/class/drm/card0/device/hwmon/hwmon3/pwm1_enable. The default value (1)
seems to do the right thing now. Progress!

Mind you, lmsensors is still unable to report fan speed, and gives nonsensical
values for crit/hyst temperatures. I have a feeling that further improvements
to power management may be possible too.
