Things break when the panel doesn't define connector_type, leading to the below
check from devm_drm_panel_bridge_add:
if (WARN_ON(panel->connector_type == DRM_MODE_CONNECTOR_Unknown))        
    return NULL;

Please advise on the best course of action here.
