I'm seeing the same thing.  Na display after either replug/hotplug, front-panel
soft-off power cycling, or back-panel power supply power cycling.

Samsung s27a850d displayport monitor
ATI Technologies Inc Cadar [FirePro 2460]   (I think they meant ATI "Cedar")

forcing DPMS off and on will restore display.  (I have this shell script bound
to F12 and taping that key will restore the display.)

    xset dpms force off
    sleep 1
    xset dpms force on
