Hmm. 5.1.3 had issues for me too, on login and when launching Evolution (the GNOME mail client). Seems the success was intermittent. One additional piece of information: I have two 1440p 144 Hz Freesync displays with audio... I'm not sure if anything about that is a contributing factor.
