Use the correct method to set your run levels.

The original post tells you how and comment #6 even tells you where to get the
information.

read the file....   /etc/inittab   

The correct way is .....

  systemctl set-default multi-user.target  (for text mode / runlevel 3)

  systemctl set-defaulta graphical.target (for graphical mode / runlevel 5)

Read the file /etc/inittab please.
