And it is still stalling.

It has an interesting message in dmesg:

[   52.703150] [drm:amdgpu_job_timedout [amdgpu]] *ERROR* ring gfx timeout,
last signaled seq=20, last emitted seq=22
[   52.703162] [drm] IP block:gfx_v8_0 is hung!
[   52.703168] [drm] GPU recovery disabled.
