For some unknown reason, I started to get the "kgd2kfd_probe failed" message after the update of Fedora-27 (limited to security advisories). Here is dmesg output: Console: switching to colour frame buffer device 240x67 radeon 0000:01:05.0: fb0: radeondrmfb frame buffer device kfd kfd: DID 9710 is missing in supported_devices kfd kfd: kgd2kfd_probe failed [drm] Initialized radeon 2.50.0 20080528 for 0000:01:05.0 on minor 0 from kernel version: 4.14.16-300.fc27.x86_64 Compare with the dmesg output: Console: switching to colour frame buffer device 240x67 radeon 0000:01:05.0: fb0: radeondrmfb frame buffer device [drm] Initialized radeon 2.50.0 20080528 for 0000:01:05.0 on minor 0 from the kernel version 4.13.9-300.fc27.x86_64 Q1. Is this failure expected? Note that this system doesn't support IOMMU. Q2. What to do if such failure is not expected? Thank you, - Sen Dion P.S. This is my first submission to the list. Kindly forgive me if I missed to adhere to the list posting guildelines.
