i forgot to mention: both kernels (4.15.2-2-MANJARO (60Hz vert freq) and 4.14.16-1-MANJARO (40Hz vert freq)) work fine, _but_ they both need at least one of these kernel parameters in the grub.cfg: amdgpu.si_support=1 amdgpu.cik_support=1 amdgpu.audio=0 -arne
