--- Comment #3 from leviathansolais@xxxxxxxxx (leviathansolais@xxxxxxxxx) ---
This is the reddit link:
https://www.reddit.com/r/linuxquestions/comments/6ex4e0/cpu_doesnt_speed_up_when_gaming/

Coolsense is a HP driver that uses the accelerometer to detect if the laptop is
in a stable/unstable position, and it makes the fans behave accordingly,
Coolsense doesn't exist on linux, HP didn't make a driver, and they told me on
reddit that, that my problem is because HP broke the ACPI standard with it, and
they didn't bother releasing it to linux, basically, screwing me and other
people over. But it *sometimes* behaves properly, so I thought this could be
diagnosed to force it.

When gaming, the CPU *does* speed up to 2.70GHz, but the games don't make the
cpu go to 100-90% load. It goes to 20% for some time, then it drops, and stays
at 9-10%, like if I had nothing open.

PD: Sorry if you can't understand me properly, English isn't my first language,
or my city.
PD2: I don't know what other component would suit this.

PD3: Turbostat doesn't work....
