That's because glxinfo is 64-bit. You need to set the environment variable when
you launch a 32-bit app, like BEEP.

This is really more of a distro problem. (Personally I see no real reason to
bother with 64-bit if you have any interest to run proprietary games and stuff
using Wine. Hopefully this will be less of an issue once Debian and Ubuntu
makes the transition to proper multi-arch.)
