It's a bug in mpv. It calls vlVdpOutputSurfacePutBitsNative with a zero-area destination_rect. I'm really glad I haven't reverted the Mesa commit. The workaround is on mesa-dev: "vdpau: skip vlVdpOutputSurfacePutBitsNative with a zero-area rectangle"
