[Bug 95306] Random Blank(black) screens on "Carrizo"

I had already removed vga=788 from command line. It makes no difference. It was
meant just to set the display resolution for grub before the kernel boots.
However, grub2 now requires other instructions. 

New info to report. I reinstalled amdgpu and created the xorg.conf file. This
was the first time that the installer (XFdrake) reported the resolution
correctly and I didn't have to manually configure it. Now I get a randomly
flashing screen and still no keyboard input. Before, it was a blank screen with
the backlight on, now the light is on/off irregularly every few seconds. I'm
not sure this is progress, but perhaps it is a clue for someone who knows the
driver well.
