We also have to add support for this in the AVI infoframe but I think that doesn't break userspace neither drivers. Regarding the uapi changes it's the thing that I am concerned and I will definitely need some guidance to do that. You mean by opt-in knob a change to drm_mode_expose_to_userspace() function?
