yes, just download the patch into /usr/src/linux-2.6.37.1-1.2/ and run:
patch -p1 -i 0001-i2c-algo-bit-make-sure-to-call-pre-post_xfer-for-bit.patch

from /usr/src/linux-2.6.37.1-1.2/ run:
make
make modules
make modules_install
make install
and select the new kernel in grub.
