I finally got some time to bisect this issue and found
	81a14b46846fea0741902e8d8dfcc6c6c78154c8
drm/i915/sdvo: Set sync polarity based on actual mode
causes the bug.

And, indeed, reverting 81a14b46846fea0741902e8d8dfcc6c6c78154c8 on
2.6.37.3 or 2.6.38-rc8 makes my monitor detecting 1920x1200 again.

Please note, this patch is part of a 3-series together with:
	b599c0bca1e08a89a7fc4305bc84f4be30ada368
drm/i915/hdmi: Set sync polarity based on actual mode
	d6d952689a48375afb97f619f77d548f16d45a92
drm/i915/pch: Set transcoder sync polarity for DP based on actual mode

I heard, if you play a NT-CD backwards, you get satanic messages...
That's nothing. If you play it forwards, it installs NT.
