Sadly, the patch has no apparent effect.

I tried to change the texture detail and to turn detail textures on and off in
ut2004, but the always same surfaces get corrupted. In the menu of doom3 the
mars is corrupted only if bump mapping is not enabled (I'm not entirely sure,
but it seems to me that only the clouds get corrupted).
