Once you stop multipathd, if you've lost all your paths, you aren't going to have them restored, and any queued IO will just sit there. This can be especially problematic on shutdown. This patch adds a queue_without_daemon option to the defaults section of multipath.conf. If this is set to "no", when multipathd stops, queue_if_no_path is turned off for all devices. If multipathd is restarted, queue_if_no_path is reset appropriately for all devices.
