There seem to be a bit of confusion of what additional functionality this program will offer currently not possible with both nautilus/gnome and dolphin/kde.

I have added wording in the main page of the project to make this clear.

The main page of the project is at: http://code.google.com/p/zulucrypt/

It now reads to show what it can provide currently not possible with both gnome and kde. It reads:

"This project aims to provide an easy to use command line and a Qt based GUI front end to cryptsetup.

cryptsetup up is a command line tool used to create and manage encrypted hard drives on linux.

This project will add functionality currently not supported by gnome and kde when dealing with cryptsetup volumes.

Both gnome and kde only works with cryptsetup volumes in partitions and can only open and close them using only a password.

When the core functionality of this program is added. It will allow a normal user to click their way through the following using the GUI without being to gain root's privileges by providing root's password or setting up sudo.

1. Opening and closing both luks based and plain based volumes in both files and partitions. Gnome and KDE only works with luks volumes and only in partitions.

2. Opening and closing both luks based and plain based volumes by asking a user to provide either a passphrase or a file with a passphrase. Gnome and KDE only asks a user for a passphrase.

3. Creating luks based and plain based volumes in both files and partitions. Gnome and KDE currently can not do this.

4. Manage luks keys in volumes in both files and partitions. Gnome and KDE currently can not do this."
