screwed up partition table

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

hello there,
yesterday i accidentially deleted the partition table of my harddisk. in the meanwhile i was able to restore the partition table, and i am able to mount the non-encrypted partitions.
but one partition is encrypted with cryptsetup, it contains various Logical Volumes.

when i try to open the device

sudo cryptsetup -v luksOpen /dev/sdb1 myencrypted
Enter LUKS passphrase:
Command failed: /dev/sdb1 is not a LUKS partition

is there any chance of recovering the LUKS partition,  i didn't find any solution for this, that's why i am asking here on the list.

thanks for your help
hatsch
