a luks format usb stick and the hal volume.label property

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

In the HAL, 'volume' devices have a 'volume.label' property, which in
the case of VFAT or EXT2 is the user assigned volume label.

If the device has been formatted as a Luks device however, the
'volume.label' is always blank, and I can identify no manner in which it
can be set.

This is causing me difficulty in identifying devices, whereby I want to
have several usb sticks all with the same name; I'm forced now to revert
to creating a list of all the 'volume.uuid' and looking for any matching
items.

Is there some way to set this volume label?
