on my machine / is dm-crypted and the result is usable, but not real
great. hardware might be able to encrypt/decrypt a lot. but I guess
the whole dm-crypt layer adds to lagging and thus makes the system
sluggish. is any reordering of read/write requests or anything like
that happening with dm-crypt?

note: my swap is also on a dm-crypt partition, adding to the trouble.
