The best documentation that I know of for this is the lexer
source at:

   https://git.kernel.org/cgit/utils/dtc/dtc.git/tree/dtc-lexer.l

The lexer detects tokens for "/delete-property/" and "/delete-node/"
at lines 128 - 140.
