Why are those split in different drivers, given that there's a single DT
node ? It seems to add complexity for no real reason.

Please, no :-( There's no driver in V4L2 using the component framework,
which I really would like to see being replaced by a sensible API. We
have v4l2-async in V4L2, which I still wouldn't call very sensible, but
please use it if you need this kind of feature.

Please use lowercase for hex constants.

Parentheses are not needed. Same below.

As it's a DMA address, I'd name name dmaaddr (or just addr if you
prefer).

DCMIPP_ prefixes would be nice too.

Please list those variables explicitly.

Please list the fields explicitly here too, limiting them to the fields
that need to be protected by the mutex.

Pixel formats can be printed with %p4CC. For unsigned values, please use
%u.

Can you have multiple input subdevs selectable at runtime ? If not, the
source pointer could be cached in the dcmipp_bytecap_device structure.

This duplicates the debug statement in reg_write().

Make this a debug message, it can be triggered by userspace if the
pipeline is misconfigured.

Do we have to hold the spinlock for the whole duration of the function,
or could we protect list access only and drop the lock when calling
vb2_buffer_done() ?

You can move this out of the lock-protected section.

Do you need to duplicate printed the error counts ? They will be printed
by the dev_warn(), the dev_dbg() would either print the same values, or
0s.

Please use the subdev active state API to store the active
configuration. This requires calling v4l2_subdev_init_finalize() at
probe time. The imx8-isi driver is an example of a driver using the
active state API with multiple subdevs.

Is printing the register name as a string really worth the additional
size ? It's a very low-level debug feature, if you need to debug issues
at that level, I think addresses would be enough.

I would actually drop the dev_dbg() calls completely in the read/write
helpers. They add cost at runtime, and if you need to debug register
access, I think recompiling the driver wouldn't be a problem.
