Hi Marcus.

Main thing in here is that using matches against an enum for the chip
varients in code is rarely as scalable as it initially seems to be.
It tends to end up as much more extensible and maintainable to either
add callbacks covering the differences or data to the chip_info structure.
That puts all the differences between parts in one place and allows
mixing and matching of features in a simple fashion.

Otherwise, looks good.

Wild cards in naming rarely a good idea. Here they are already wrong :)
Just pick a device that they are true for an name them after that.

Avoid matching on chip IDs. It tends not to scale well. Much better to use
a callback or data in the chip_info structure for all such cases.
Then it's a simple lookup for the relevant device + one place to see all such
inter chip variations.

As above - make this data rather than code by adding to the chip_info structure.

Move this up and add all the other variations (register addresses / masks / callbacks when it
gets complicated).

Why switch to a single more complex transfer? This looks like an unrelated
change. Also, could spi_write_then_read be used to simplify this further?

I'm not keen on relying on the lookups that fallback to the spi_device_id
table when looking for match data.
There tend to be corner cases that go wrong such as a fallback compatible
form a different one (which we don't know about yet as it is a new device)
The match can then happen on the ID that isn't in the table below and fail.

As such I'd like to see match data in both tables via
spi_get_device_match_data()

Prefer to see pointers used in here rather than enum values as that
works more naturally with the types of data in spi and i2c tables.
