Sorry for incomplete comment as I sent the mail by mistake.
In above patchwork discussion Mark Brown suggested "driver using
REGMAP_SPMI should depend on SPMI and select REGMAP_SPMI, assuming
SPMI is a user-selectable Kconfig symbol."
