As already mentioned, I won't accept a patch introducing ioctls. Technically, the "go" command (if it does what I think it does) is way too critical to handle this way, and the status can be reported as debugfs file. If the idea for the GO command ioctl is to start the device (hard to say because it isn't documented here, and I don't have time right now to look it up in the datasheet), it might make sense to check if the regulator API can be used instead.
