Would it be possible to do something like [1] where a global node wraps up all the remote processors in the system? That would offer the advantage that each MCU becomes its own independent platform driver, which falls in line with the implementation done for other architectures. I have taken a look at the implementation below but there is really no need to expand on that while we haven't sorted out the core structure of this driver.
