What you describe here would be a 'user hack' because our customer sells only PAL cameras. I think it is a connector limitation because the connector can be labeld with "PAL only" and is rectangle and there can be a round "NTSC only" connector. IMHO this is a hardware limiting factor and no one would expect that a NTSC camera is working on a "PAL only" labeld connector.
