For octopus you should be using stable_5.0 as per https://docs.ceph.com/projects/ceph-ansible/en/latest/#releases In our testing we were seeing the following error when mistakenly using the stable_6.0 branch and we do not see it with the stable_5.0 branch. "The conditional check '(inventory_hostname == item.name and not rolling_update | default(False) | bool) or (rolling_update | default(False) | bool and item.name == groups.get(mon_group_name, [])[0])' failed. The error was: error while evaluating conditional ((inventory_hostname == item.name and not rolling_update | default(False) | bool) or (rolling_update | default(False) | bool and item.name == groups.get(mon_group_name, [])[0])): 'ansible.utils.unsafe_proxy.AnsibleUnsafeText object' has no attribute 'name'" What error are you referring to?
