Interested in becoming a Ceph mentor for GHC Open Source Day 2022?

Open Source Day (OSD) is an all-day hack-a-thon at Grace Hopper Celebration in which participants of all levels contribute and learn about Open Source while working on projects designed to solve real-world problems. Ceph is participating as a project again this year, meaning that we will provide "good first issues" from the Redmine Tracker to OSD participants, who will work that day to contribute PRs.

This year, OSD will be a virtual event scheduled for Friday, September 16th, 2022 from 8am to 3pm U.S. Pacific Time. Several of us have already signed up to be mentors that day, which entails joining a video call and being available in case any of the OSD participants have questions. If you are interested in participating as a mentor, you can fill out this form [1] and select "Mentor" for "Your Focus Area". The deadline for submitting the form is this Monday, June 20th at 11:59 pm US PDT.

If you have any questions about Open Source Day or what it means to be an OSD mentor, feel free to respond to this thread. If you don't want to be a mentor, you can also participate by creating or tagging "good first issues" on the Redmine Tracker that would be ideal for beginning developers (i.e. easily verifiable on a vstart cluster, or code cleanups).

Thanks,
Laura Flores
